Psychotherapy and counselling

Sarah Victor

As a Psychotherapist, I work with individual adults with the aim of resolving issues and enabling life enhancement.

With over 17 years of clinical experience, I am able to bring a deep level of clinical intuition and professional expertise to our sessions. This seasoned perspective ensures that our work together is both safe and effective, and at the right times, appropriately challenging.

The uniqueness of a therapeutic relationship is the availability of another human being, who has no preconception of you and no personal agenda other than to be in relationship with you and be helpful in guiding you in your right direction.

Professional Support

I haven't always been a therapist. I have ‘worn many hats. ’ Before my clinical training, I spent thirteen years working within a national environmental and regulatory body. This background is central to how I work; it means I have a practical understanding of the pressures found in large, technical systems and the particular weight of high-stakes decision-making.

I am particularly interested in how we facilitate internal resilience—by allowing expression of, and moving through, our feelings, holding good boundaries, and utilising support. This process ensures we remain creative and effective so we can navigate the rising tides of external pressures.

I offer a grounded space where we can explore the reality of professional life—from the ‘Sunday night dread’ and workplace burnout to the challenges of maintaining your own well-being within a demanding career. I work with a wide range of issues and problems such as:

  • Depression and Anxiety
  • Post Traumatic Stress and early childhood traumas
  • Eating disorders and psychosomatic symptoms
  • Relationship problems
  • Bereavement, loss, and sexual identity
  • Workplace burnout and resilience
  • Navigating systemic change and high-pressure responsibility
  • Career transitions and professional identity
  • The unique pressures of scientific and technical roles

I also offer support to people seeking therapy for personal development, and to those going through life-changing events.

The next step

If you would like to explore the possibility of working with me, please send me an email or phone me on 07805 620525 to arrange an assessment session. In this session we will discuss your issues and expectations and you will have the chance to ask any questions you may have and to form an impression of me. We will then decide whether we would like to continue working together.
