Psychotherapy and Professional Support

As a Psychotherapist and Clinical Supervisor, I work with individual adults with the aim of resolving issues and enabling life enhancement. With over 17 years of clinical experience, I bring a deep level of clinical intuition and professional expertise to our sessions. This seasoned perspective ensures that our work together is both safe and effective, and at the right times, appropriately challenging.

The uniqueness of a therapeutic relationship is the availability of another human being who has no preconception of you and no personal agenda other than to be in relationship with you and be helpful in guiding you in your right direction.

Clinical Supervision

As a Clinical Supervisor, I work in partnership with my supervisees to support and help them develop and sustain confident and ethical practice. I work with both trainees and experienced counsellors and psychotherapists, providing a supportive yet rigorous space to navigate the complexities of clinical work.

Professional Support

I haven’t always been a therapist. Before establishing my private practice, I spent thirteen years working within a major national public body. I was responsible for navigating complex partnerships and managing conflicting stakeholder views in high-pressure environments.

This experience allows me to speak the language of professional systems and have a practical understanding of the pressures found in large, technical systems and the particular weight of high-stakes decision-making, while maintaining the clinical depth and insight of a psychotherapist.

I am particularly interested in how we facilitate internal resilience—by allowing expression of, and moving through, our feelings, holding good boundaries, and utilising healthy sustainable support. This process ensures we remain creative and effective so we can navigate the “rising tides” of external pressures.

I work with a wide range of issues and problems, including:

  • Depression, Anxiety, and Relationship Problems
  • Post Traumatic Stress and Early Childhood Traumas
  • Workplace Burnout and Resilience
  • Navigating Systemic Change and High-Pressure Responsibility
  • Career Transitions and Professional Identity
  • The Unique Pressures of Scientific and Technical Roles

I also offer support to those seeking therapy for personal development and those navigating significant life-changing events.

The next step

If you would like to explore the possibility of working with me, please send me an email or phone me on 07805 620525 to arrange an assessment session. In this session we will discuss your issues and expectations and you will have the chance to ask any questions you may have and to form an impression of me. We will then decide whether we would like to continue working together.
