I have been in clinical practice since 2007. As a UKCP Registered Psychotherapist and Clinical Supervisor, I work with individuals to navigate complex life transitions, manage anxiety, and resolve long-standing emotional patterns. My clinical experience began in the voluntary sector within a large Birmingham-based counselling centre before I established my private practice.
Before my clinical training, I spent thirteen years working within a national environmental and regulatory body. My role involved navigating the complexities of a large national organization, including work on environmental resilience and influencing high-level policy. This required extensive liaison with Regional and Local Government, Members of Parliament, and various stakeholders.
This background gives me a practical understanding of the pressures inherent in large, technical systems and the particular challenges faced by those in scientific, regulatory, or high-responsibility roles. Having been involved in advancing employee stress management processes during my time in the public sector, I am deeply interested in how we facilitate internal resilience and remain effective when external pressures are high.
My interest in the intersection of the environment and psychology led me to publish: "Managing the Flood: An Integrative Psychotherapeutic Approach to the Environmental Challenges of Living in Today’s World" (British Journal of Psychotherapy Integration, 2018). I often explore how our relationship with the environment can serve as a source of containment for anxiety.
